We loved our stop in Sitka! We did an ATV excursion in the morning, then walked to the NPS unit and walked the totem trail there. Absolutely gorgeous!

Aydin has been found! There was no argument & he left without Grandma. He is in police custody with the man he was seen with & family is on their way to get him now. Praise God!❤ (The agent that booked them is part of my host agency)

I was in Sitka 3 times last year including once with A&G on the Eurodam. It's a beautiful & very walkable little town. The one excursion I took the 2nd time through( Crown Princess), was out to an Island by Zodiac to walk in nature. We were treated to whales bubble feeding and all 3 whales fully breaching. I have seen Humpbacks all over the world. (Hawaii, Mexico & Alaska) and this way the only time I've ever seen this behavior. Sadly, I missed capturing it on my camera. Still a great memory!

Hi, just an update from my previous message about ordering the medallion on the app. I indeed received the medallions in the mail today so the app is incorrect because it is still showing that i need to order the medallions even though i received them in the mail today so hopefully princess fixes that part on the app so people who already ordered their medallions arent confused.

We have been having this conversation around our house a lot lately. A few years ago we defined Vacation, Trip, mini-vacation (going to the next town over or to the lake just for the day), and micro-vacation (restful time in our own back yard). It became important for us to get creative, define, and schedule these, especially once work from home became a norm. Ill be honest, i still run across work problems that occurred while i was away on a long trip, 2016, 2017, 2018, etc. but I don't take on that "blame". The root cause is not that i was away from work, the root cause is that the company didn't provide enough back up, and thats not on me. 😊

I am a solo traveler, so I will already get credit for 2 cruises for my September cruise. Would I get 4 if I included a plus package?

I think fear holds people back. Take a risk! Especially on a cruise...you get to have mini adventures on port days but back to the safety of the ship to sleep! You will not regret😊 And even if it doesnt turn out exactly perfect you have fun and funny memories the rest of your life....forgetting almost everything bad but living on the good!

I was able to book Main Dining on our Antarctica cruise in January. We are Platinum.

I have been with the same company for 24 years, I mostly stayed due to 29 vacation days and 8 holidays plus generous Flex Time. How could anyone leave vacaydays on the table? We are only allowed to accrue 5 days to the following year, use or lose! Even if you can't afford it, take a stay cation and just be away from work for awhile.

Allison you are so correct we are all dispensable. There may be a bump or two in the road for your coworkers if you leave on vacation, but they will get through it without you. I found this out very early in my career thinking that they couldn’t Get along without me, boy was I wrong? I really do feel sorry for people who think they are indispensable and can’t leave their job for one day one week one month. Taking time off can really leave you refreshed when you come back to work. People do have a lot of excuses as to why they don’t take a vacation. They don’t have the time they don’t have the money they don’t know where to go, etc.. just make sure to budget for a vacation and when it’s time for vacation, you have the money. I also agree you can make friends very easily when traveling on a cruise you can say hello to anyone we’re all there for the same reason to have a great time. I’ve had friends for 25 years that I’ve met on cruises, I’ve had other people that I met that I thought I might keep in touch with but somehow it didn’t work out. It’s just the way it is. Anyway, Allison great video today really motivated me to start looking at some more trips once I recover from my shoulder surgery in August. Even though I love traveling with my family and friends, I find that I meet more people when I’m traveling solo. I know when I worked people used to think I crazy going places alone. They see the pictures I post online and when I would come back to work, they would say gosh she look like you had a great time. I don’t know how you do it alone, you don’t know until you try right.

Great video, due to life‘s circumstance, I have been traveling solo for the last few years. Believe it or not these recent trips where I’ve traveled on my own have been some of the best and most memorable of my life. I’ve gone on numerous cruises on various cruise lines and I’ve always met interesting people some of whom have become great friends and they live around the world. This past March we all met in Tokyo and went on a circumnavigation cruise around Japan on Holland America. It was a great vacation and we all had our own individual cabins. My advice is to follow what Allison said in this video go, don’t be afraid start slow, go on a one week, cruise, relax and spark up a conversation with different people. Some people will ignore you but not all. Also go to the solo meet ups. It’s not just single people looking for mates. I really appreciate this video.

Hi, We are headed to Alaska on the Crown Princess, leaving out of San Francisco, on Tuesday. Thanks for the heads up about the medallion orders. Our app is still asking us to order the medallion even though we have email confirmation that our medallions will be waiting for us at check-in.

Allison you said it so beautifully

I have always been in love with vacations, since I was a kid. I am three years into retirement next week -- loving every minute of it. I have also outlived my mom by over 30 percent, so I know how important it is to seize the day. All that being said, I know there are company cultures and even department cultures that disrecommend their employees taking time off, especially in longer spurts. I had manager once who was like that. She never said anything to me, but I know she told some of my co-workers they couldn't take more than a week at a time. I remember in my 15th year when I was awarded an extra week, and I took my first three week vacation and went Down Under. I had a great time. At that time I was completely unreachable for those three weeks, and it was awesome! I think the work front did suffer in my absence, but a year and three months later I did another 3 week vacation -- this time to Europe. I explained that work was designed to support my life, not take it over. I hope others can be encouraged to take their, whether it is close to home or around the world.

I’m a solo traveler. Always, done it on my own. But, very excited to take my first Lets’s Go Travel Family cruise in 2026 to see the next eclipse. I am retired and was a caregiver to both my parents, now I’m making the most of my life and travel is at the top of my list, after family. And sometimes travel is with family.

Well said indeed! No one knows what tomorrow will bring so if you can, GO ON VACATION and enjoy life while you can. It’s a big world out there just waiting to be visited. Happy 4th!

Well said Alison! Why wouldn't people take their vacation leave. I took my 6 weeks vacation leave every year of my working life. We are a long time dead and life is not a dress rehearsal.

I love looking forward to and planning our next adventure. We have found that we love the cruise life and have three cruises on the calendar. The wonderful ports and excursions along with the people we meet on and off the ship are awesome. Taking a vacation, even in retirement, gives us a better perspective of the world. Great advice! We are just getting into cruising after 8 years of traveling the US and Canada in an RV. We met lifelong friends, did things we never thought we were capable of, and have memories that will last our whole lives. We are excited to go on our first cruise this fall. We know we will enjoy meeting new people and seeing new places. Happy 4th!🧨

Great video!!! Your spirit, enthusiasm and smile are contagious. I'm so happy we met you and Gordon last summer on Island Princess and hope to cruise with you again. Our next cruise is July 13th on Royal Princess, 14-day Alaska cruise roundtrip from Vancouver. We have met several people on cruises who we keep in touch with and some we are cruising with in the future.

Allison, to update you on my own dining reservations for the Alaska cruise on the 27th, I am all booked! I have a 7 pm table for one in the Ketchikan Dining Room for the evenings of the 27th, 31st, and August 2nd. Then I have the Chef’s Table on July 28th with the Catch by Rudi at 7m on the 29th. Then the Crown Grill at 7 pm on the 30th and Sabatini’s at 7 pm on August 1st. So I am all set. Still waiting to see the details for the Chef’s Table, but probably won’t find out until onboard.

I like what Carnival offers but sadly they attract too many low class sorts. I might cruise a seven day cruise with them again but never ever a shorter one.

If anyone is still wondering about this I figured it out. If you go to edit for your reservation and select guests, there is a + sign in the upper right-hand corner. Click that and it will ask for a booking number.

You will love Campobello! So glad it is one of the choices for everyone.

Allison Happy 4th. Lubec, Maine is the easternmost point of the continental U.S. Stayed there. Cute town not far from Eastport. Not a whole lot to do in either place. We would suggest going to Campobello Island. FDR's home was fascinating. You can schedule tea with Eleanor. Informative and fun.

Thank you for informed the Eastport, Maine excursion available. We booked the trip 7 days from NY, New England but 2 day ago we can't book excursion at that stop.

Luckily our cruise is in August so not impacted by the dining app. I have called Princess when we haven't been able to get a reservation for specialty dining. Thanks Alluson for the good updates you give us.

Was just there (Southampton) disembarking the Caribbean Princess June 30, 2024 (to Norway).... the show BRAVO is a "must see"..... there simply aren't any (good) words to describe this show!

We did an Alaska cruise tour in June. We were never able to make dining reservations in the app. When we checked on our medallions we discovered they were scheduled to be shipped to an address in Florida. We live in Maryland. Once we were on the ship the app worked fine
